Does Hitskope provide access to unique codes (ie: Apple track ID's, Spotify URI)?

Yes. For all DSPs that provide a method to obtain a URI or weblink, we retrieve those and display them in the Distribution section of your release.

Does Hitskope provide a way to set up pre-orders?

Yes.

Does Hitskope provide a way to set up pre-saves?

Not yet. We're working on a partnership with a third party. It would be opt-in with a flat fee for unlimited use.

Why is it live on Shazam before the release date?

Shazam doesn't respect release dates. Your track will appear there early, but can't be played until release day. If you don't want it visible before your release date, don't send it to Shazam until that date.

Why does it show live on the UI when it's not live yet on YouTube, Yandex, iMusica, Nuuday, and Shazam?

"Live" for YouTube, Yandex, iMusica, Nuuday, and Shazam means they've confirmed ingestion. It doesn't mean your release is publicly available yet.

What happens to my chart history, rankings, and playlist placements when transferring distribution to Hitskope?

When migrating catalogs, the only major DSPs that lose some historical data are:

  • iTunes: If your UPC and ISRCs stay the same, chart history and popularity are retained. Ratings and reviews are lost.
  • YouTube Music: View and stream counts reset to zero.

For other DSPs, your new instance replaces your old one as long as you avoid changing certain metadata fields before migration. See this article for the list of fields not to change.

What is the turnaround time for delivery of new releases?

Delivery to most major DSPs happens within a few hours, typically same day.

Our current distributor makes our music available on YouTube and has a copyright claim management system. Does Hitskope do this too?

Yes. We deliver to YouTube Content ID. Our YouTube team handles claim management directly and reaches out if there's an issue with your content.

What information do you need from us to transfer from our current distributor?

Hitskope needs your catalog ingested. This can be done in a few ways:

  • Your current aggregator can set up a feed to Hitskope.
  • Use Hitskope's catalog ingestion template.
  • Create a release directly in Hitskope.
