Why is my music muted in a Facebook or Instagram video?

In late June 2022, Meta changed how it authorizes music in videos in territories where monetization hasn't launched yet.

If you distribute music to Facebook with worldwide rights, you're likely including a territory where Meta hasn't enabled monetization. If your video gets muted in one of those territories, and you own the rights to everything in the video, appeal the action directly on Facebook or Instagram. Meta will restore your content.
